This doesn't work if you use the -image switch when you load a new build.

Good find by the way.
It's an alternate spelling, according to http://www.dict.org (see dessicate).

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/dessicate - lists it as a common misspelling of desiccate. Dessicate has, as far as I know, never been a correct or accepted spelling - it's just everybody seems to know it as that.
But it's a small thing that I just found a bit amusing.

I only linked to dict.org because I was pretty sure that "dessicate" was the correct spelling.

I'd be more amused about it if I could spell correctly. I'm typically pretty good about spelling, so finding out that what I thought was the correct spelling was actually a "variant" or "common misspelling" (whichever term you'd like to use) was a bit of a surprise.

But on topic, I'm looking forward to farming hydra claws. It's been a long time since I've done this, and when I initially tried it was when I was first learning 55-health builds. I eventually got the hang of farming hydras with a Warrior/Mesmer build, it'll be fun to mess around with the different builds again.

(edit to add: I wasn't aware of the wiktionary, looks like an interesting project. Thanks for the link)

Just curious, because I've never really been into the farming scene, but what was the point of farming hydra claws BEFORE Nicholas decided that he wanted them?

I see that there is a collector who will give you some nice weapons for them, but was there any other reason?

Thanks in advance!

Permas can do this, you just have cool down time now between mobs.

[deadly paradox][echo][shadow form][ether nightmare][radiation field][viper's defense][mantra of flame][feel no pain!]

drink some booze, run up to mob.
1>2>3>7>4> hit your second SF, >5>when disease triggers>6>8 when needed. The trick is dont do the perma stance again, just hit shadow form naked and they will all die before your SF falls out. I can kill up to 7-8 at once with this so far. You just have to sit and wait between mobs.

I dont think ppl were farming for the claws >.<, farming gold in units and drops was the goal and claws were generally merched. At least by me about three and a half years ago.

Again, like the scales, iris flowers, seeds, i must have merched more than a stack of these ><

I used to farm hydras for the occasional gold items, and for the claws. The claws salvage into scales, which were a decent source of income for a while (have no idea what the current price for scales is, though).

Finally something to do with my old necro 55 build. Usually don't farm hydras cause the drops suck, mostly whites and purples and the occasional elementalist tome.
